Upon compiling my list of things to do last night (a ritual which is becoming more frequent, now holidays have arrived), I realised it was time for a blog update.
In my defence I have been thinking about my first informative blog for a few days; ideas have been swirling around my head for a while, but stil need building. So my first topic, as the title suggests, is how to buy bargin... I think a theme may be developing in this blog. FYI, Jayne and myself work in a department store, so we may inadvertently talk (or overtalk) about fashion, buying, clothes, perving ahaha and so on.
But anyways, moving onto buying bargin, it is one thing I feel is my duty to share. As a sales person, I love the feeling of suprising someone when they find out what they're buying is infact cheaper than they originally thought. So here are a few tips on how to...
- Tip #1 - Get to know your stores: Stores are more or less always having sales, and by getting to know when the sales are on you will always be in for a bargin. Asking the sales assistants if they are having a sale or if one is coming up will also help you to decide whether to buy now or save later.
- Tip #2 - Scope the sales racks: I know where I work, there are always sales racks. At the start of a new season it becomes chockers with the all the stock of the last season. Always keep an eye out for these racks as they become replenished with passing season stock.
- Tip #3 - Become a member: Most stores have loyalty programs, each with their own system of rewards and most often than not are free to join. One of the most common being in store member only offers, discounts which you can only get if you are a member of their loyalty program, so get joining!
- Tip #4 - Know what you want: Before you go shopping, have a mental list of what you want. Go into your shopping trip knowing what you want, that way you will be more in tune with what you are actually looking for, and will be more likely to find it. This is something I always do, and helps me to come out of my shopping ventures feeling successful.
- My last tip is to ask, ask, ask!!! Ask about prices, offers, sizes, other options, deals and anything else you can think of. You will never know unless ask someone!
I know this might be a long shot, but comment with more tips or tell us about your bargins! Share the knowledge!
Love love Caitlin xx
