How to buy bargin!

Morning all,
Upon compiling my list of things to do last night (a ritual which is becoming more frequent, now holidays have arrived), I realised it was time for a blog update.
In my defence I have been thinking about my first informative blog for a few days; ideas have been swirling around my head for a while, but stil need building. So my first topic, as the title suggests, is how to buy bargin... I think a theme may be developing in this blog. FYI, Jayne and myself work in a department store, so we may inadvertently talk (or overtalk) about fashion, buying, clothes, perving ahaha and so on.

But anyways, moving onto buying bargin, it is one thing I feel is my duty to share. As a sales person, I love the feeling of suprising someone when they find out what they're buying is infact cheaper than they originally thought. So here are a few tips on how to...

  • Tip #1 - Get to know your stores: Stores are more or less always having sales, and by getting to know when the sales are on you will always be in for a bargin. Asking the sales assistants if they are having a sale or if one is coming up will also help you to decide whether to buy now or save later.
  • Tip #2 - Scope the sales racks: I know where I work, there are always sales racks. At the start of a new season it becomes chockers with the all the stock of the last season. Always keep an eye out for these racks as they become replenished with passing season stock.
  • Tip #3 - Become a member: Most stores have loyalty programs, each with their own system of rewards and most often than not are free to join. One of the most common being in store member only offers, discounts which you can only get if you are a member of their loyalty program, so get joining!
  • Tip #4 - Know what you want: Before you go shopping, have a mental list of what you want. Go into your shopping trip knowing what you want, that way you will be more in tune with what you are actually looking for, and will be more likely to find it. This is something I always do, and helps me to come out of my shopping ventures feeling successful.
  • My last tip is to ask, ask, ask!!! Ask about prices, offers, sizes, other options, deals and anything else you can think of. You will never know unless ask someone!
I hope these few little tips help you find your bargin :)
I know this might be a long shot, but comment with more tips or tell us about your bargins! Share the knowledge!

Working in menswear certainly has its perks...

Hello blogosphere!

Well, firstly I'd like to say thank you to the lovely Caitlin who decided to create this blog for us :P [I was lazy and couldn't be arsed working it out haha]

So I guess I'll try my hand at blogging something!

Both Caity and I work in mens fashion.. and I tell you what, there are sure some great things about menswear. Let me list them for you :)

1) Besides being a great perving tool, being in menswear means you get to play dress-up with men as much as you like. [true, this can be a disadvantage when they're old or seedy, but if they're young and hot.. mmmm]

2) Men are so decisive. Whenever I am stuck in ladies fashion, I literally want to smack my head into a wall. Women can NEVER decide what they want, and they will spend 40 minutes wasting your time trying on everything, only to decide they don't want anything. Men, on the other hand, will walk in, ask for a shirt, you'll show them two and they won't even try them on - they'll just buy them. I LOVE it.

3) Men are not NEARLY as disgusting and dirty as women. Excluding feral boys who come and pee in the fitting rooms [yes, they are just that grose], men are generally pretty tidy. They will gather all the packaging from business shirts and bring them up to your counter, or they will at least try and hang garments back on the hanger [even if it's actually backwards or sideways]. Women, however, will take 20 items into the fitting room and leave them in a giant heap on the floor. They leave their used lingerie in the fitting rooms, or leave dirty baby nappies wrapped up in a jumper on the floor for us to clean out. Yes, women can be seriously dirty.

4) When a man comes in asking me to outfit him for a night out, he will listen attentively to everything I tell him. He will try everything I suggest on, and more often than not will trust my judgement and buy at least two of the five items I show him. Women though, will hum and har over anything I show them, and eventually just tell me we don't have what they're looking for. [I will say however that in intimate apparel that is generally a different story - they are usually very happy to hear what I have to say lol]

5) Lastly, men can be ridiculously friendly. I love it how all I have to do is ask them how their day has been, and suddenly it becomes a massive chat about the Broncos game on Friday. If I ask women, [especially if I'm in childrenswear], it turns into a rant about how crappy service is here now, blah blah blah.

I'm sure I could list more things but that's all I can think of for now. Don't get me wrong, I do think women are amazing [I am one, of course!] and I do have respect for them. But honestly - men can be so much easier to deal with!

That's all for today kids. Follow Caity and I - plenty more awesomeness to come!! :)

Ok so just a quick update, Jaynes in!
So you'll probably see her blogging around on here, or more likely vlogging. She loves vlogging, so check out her youtube account at http://www.youtube.com/user/1Janeymoo
    Speak soon, Caitlin xx

First post....let's see how this works!

Hello to eveyone, if everyone is anyone or just someone!
...hello to you, this is Caitlin, Jayne is no where to be seen.
Or if Jayne wants to do this at all. I've just created the blog, because Jayne, who is an amazing friend and colleague, loves to vlog and she gave me a brilliant idea to start a blog where we can share our pointless thoughts and ideas LOL.
Anyway, I have yet to formally ask Jayne if she wants to be involved so this may end up being Caitlin. Fullstop intended.
Moving onto what I intend the blog to be about ahaha .... well anything really. Like I said, an opportunity to share pointless thoughts and ideas, or anything we can come up with. This is my first time ever! blogging, so bare with me as I figure it out, we can all take babysteps together. But I'm only 20 so we should be able to figure this out in no time =D
To close, I just want to say, thanks for reading my boring opener, hopefully you'll be kind enough to laugh with me, and not just at me... signing off Caitlin xx
